Faculty and Staff FAQs

What are the levels of access for faculty and staff members?

  • Contributor: Any faculty or staff members (Pittsburgh campus) with a Pitt ID has access as contributor. Entries must be approved by departmental designated Publishers. Visit the tutorial for more information on how to contribute an opportunity.

  • Publisher: Departmental-designated approver of contributions to the Catalog of Opportunities who can also post directly to the catalog. Training required. If you expect to have an ongoing need to post events and opportunities, please consult with your department head to designate a publisher and submit a request for permission and training.

  • Advisor: Academic advisors who have Pathways access and an advising role on campus can utilize Advisor privileges in Suitable to track student engagement. All advisors who complete the Pitt Advisor Certification Training (ACT) will receive Advisor access in Suitable, and can consult the Guide to the Catalog of Opportunities for more information.  A video for utilizing the Student Engagement Scorecard, accessible through a student's Pathways homepage, in advising conversations can be a resource, also.
